IUCN National Committee UK Annual General Meeting

Chaired by Stuart Brooks of the John Muir Trust, the IUCN National Committee UK Annual General Meeting took place on the 10th April at the impressive London Wetlands Centre, run by IUCN Member the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.
With magnificent views over the lagoons previously known as Barn Elms Reservoirs, and the active birdlife present there, around thirty IUCN Members gathered to oversee the governance matters of the national committee and to hear presentations with an international flavour from newly appointed IUCN Council Member, Jonathan Hughes and NCUK CEO, Chris Mahon. The Guest Speaker on this occasion was Clifton Bain, Director of the IUCN UK Peatland Programme who spoke on 'A New Era for Peatlands'. A good networking event also - great to see IUCN Member Organisations mixing with IUCN Commission Members and the IUCN Secretariat too.
